A Whimsy Life

A place you might not think about stopping by to grab a bite to eat is the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour.

While you can go and visit the gardens you can also head to their Teahouse.

The menu includes sweet as well as savoury treats. They also serve light meals including dumplings and buns.

We ordered the scones and they were great. The tea selection was quite extensive with a mix of eastern and western teas. Their Oolong tea was particularly good.

It was relaxing sitting there eating the scones and drinking tea in a peaceful environment, looking out over the lake from one of the outdoor seating areas, while serenaded by sounds from the nearby waterfall. That almost helped us to not hear the noise of nearby construction and weekday traffic in this busy part of the city.
