A Whimsy Life

Are you like me and get a thrill when you get a discount?

Have you heard about the Entertainment Book?

The Entertainment™ Book, and the Entertainment™ Digital Membership are your guide to the most popular restaurants, attractions, shopping, travel and more, all with valuable up to 50% off and 2-for-1 offers

What’s great about the Entertainment Book is that it’s more than just a collection of discounts. It’s the opportunity to try new places and things that you may not have considered. It covers dining, entertainment, accommodation and events.

What’s the catch?

There is a catch. There is always a catch. These discounts aren’t free. You do have to pay for the Entertainment Book BUT you easily make up the cost of the price of the book within the first few uses and then you have the rest of the discounts to make savings.

If you use the physical copy – the Entertainment Book then there are two elements to it. Firstly you get a card with numbers on the back of it corresponding to deals in the gold section of the book. These are fine dining options and provide great savings. Secondly there are coupons which can be torn out of the book and used on their own. These relate to other restaurants and cafes as well as deals for events and retail.

They recently introduced the Digital Membership which has it’s pros and cons. It’smuch easier to have the digital membership on your phone rather than have to store the book however it does make sharing the coupons much harder as you can only have the Digital Membership on two devices. In the past friends and I would swap the coupons depending on where we went to more frequently.

How do you get one?

The Entertainment Book can be bought in a number of locations in Australia (and around the world). For the most part they are sold by not for profit groups, schools and clubs to raise money. When they sell the books they get a portion of the cost although you don’t have to pay any extra.

Why get one?

I have been a regular user of the Entertainment Book over the years and recommend it.

In some cases the places that offer the discounts are places that are familiar to you but friends and I like Entertainment Book days were we go exploring and try new places. If you find yourself somewhere new you can always check what’s available through the Entertainment Book to check out.

Depending on the size of the group eating you can use multiple discounts but there are terms and conditions.

It makes a great gift for someone if they aren’t embarrassed to use the discount. Sure the places you use them might not like having to give you a discount but they CHOOSE to be in the Entertainment Book so I never worry to much about what they think.
